This week the students are are learning the correct use of in and into as well as new vocabulary (careful,exciting,escape and important). Moreover, they learned what adjectives are and what are character traits and how to use a bubble map to describe the character traits of the main character in our story). This week we are working on how people's habitats are different around the world and how people can affect the environment when we do construction (deforastation) and how the environment affects us back (the effects of deforastation--soil erosion and the greenhouse effect) .​

Dear parents
This week we are continuing to work people can affect the environment when we do construction (deforastation) and how the environment affects us back (the effects of deforastation--soil erosion and the greenhouse effect). This week students practiced writing a short essay and revising their essay and making good use of linking words.​

Esta semana seguimos a enfocarnos enomo nosotros estamos afectando el ambiente cuando construimos (deforestación) y como el ambiente nos afecta a nosotros(las consecuencias de la deforestación --erosión y el efecto invernadero--calentamiento global). This week because of Hispanic Heritage month the students are studying different countries of Hispanic heritage. The students will be drawing maps, and flags of the countries they study as well as research facts about those countries and create thinking maps. Finally the students share their information with their partners.

Welcome back. I hope you had a great spring break. Staring tomorrow and for the next 2 weeks 3rd and 4th grade are taking the IAR state test. Due to the fact that I am administering the test some days the students might have to miss class due to testing. During this month students will continue learning about volcanoes, text elements and summarizing non fiction texts and we will finish the unit with a project.

¡Bienvenidos! Espero que hayan tenido unas excelentes vacaciones de primavera. A partir de mañana, y durante las próximas 2 semanas, 3er y 4to grado tomarán el examen estatal IAR. Debido al hecho de que estoy administrando la prueba algunos días, es posible que los estudiantes tengan que faltar a clase debido a la prueba. Durante este mes, los estudiantes continuarán aprendiendo sobre volcanes, elementos de texto informativo y como escribir un resúmen de un texto informativo y terminaremos la unidad con un proyecto.
